Apple received a permit to test self-driving cars in California

To date, Tech giant has been infuriatingly secretive about it’s efforts to make a self driving car, code name is Project Titan.



 Apple has been working on the "Project Titan" from last several years, but has never formally recognized it. Of late, the self-governing auto extend is by all accounts in flux. from recent reporting suggestion the company is now no longer attempting to build its own autonomous, electric car to compete with companies like Tesla, but however now focused on developing self-driving software it can deploy in partnership with existing car makers.

Last year Apple submitted letter to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in which describe that it was “investing heavily in study of machine learning & automation, and is excited about potential of automated systems in lots of areas, including transportation.” At the time, it was seen as strongest hint that Apple was still committed to self driving technology.
Of late, California is now crawling with self-driving cars. Everyone from Uber to Waymo to General Motors has been testing and experiment their autonomous cars in Golden State.
California requires organizations that need to test self-ruling vehicles on the streets to enlist for an independent driving grant.
