Sabalenka of Belarus wins WTA Mumbai
MUMBAI: Number one seed Aryna Sabalenka traveled to a straight-sets triumph in the last of the $125,000 WTA Mumbai Open on Sunday.
The 19-year-old Belarusian ignored Dalila Jakupovic 6-2, 6-3 in India's business money to assert her first WTA singles title.
Sabalenka, positioned 96th on the planet, took a little more than a hour to overcome the unseeded Slovenian, put 252 in the rankings, on Mumbai's hard court surface.
It denoted the greatest win of the youngster's vocation and comes a month after she lost to Maria Sharapova at the Tianjin Open in China in her first WTA last.
