Captain AB De Villiers said that he is confident attack that features Dwaine Pretorius and Wayne Parnell in place of Farhaan Behardein and Tabraiz Shamsi.
"We have had a look at this wicket. from our past experience we just feel we have got a good chance on this wicket," he said.

The only other change to Proteas line-up sees batsman David Miller replace Kagiso Rabada, because he had a knee problem, de Villiers said.

New Zealand team still unchanged side, with captain Kane Williamson said his team were keen to bounce back after a tight four-wicket loss in the first one-day in Hamilton.

Kane Williamson said the New Zealand team needed to build steadily through their innings at Hagley Oval ground and aim for a big match finish. “On this wicket in particular it is so important we assess initially & we take the game deep and allow for that death phase, where we can hopefully count on some good partnerships,” Kane Williamson said.
